SDS (Safety Data Sheet) Preparation & Registration Services for Armenia
By Zoesoe Exports Pvt Ltd – Your Trusted Regulatory Partner for EAEU/GHS Compliance
The chemical safety framework in Armenia is undergoing significant transformation, driven by two key factors: its full membership in the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) and its regulatory alignment goals under the EU-Armenia Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement (CEPA).
Compliance requires a Safety Data Sheet (SDS) that adheres to the EAEU Technical Regulation (TR EAEU 041/2017) and is available in the mandated language.
Why SDS Is Mandatory in Armenia
The requirement for detailed chemical safety documentation is legally mandated by Armenia's participation in the EAEU and national compliance goals:
EAEU Technical Regulation (TR EAEU 041/2017): As a member of the EAEU (along with Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan), Armenia must enforce the Technical Regulation "On the safety of chemical products" (often called Eurasia REACH). This regulation mandates GHS-aligned classification, labeling, and the use of the Safety Data Sheet (often called a Chemical Safety Passport). The SDS is a mandatory document for State Registration of chemical products placed on the EAEU market.
Mandatory GOST Standard: The structure and content of the SDS must comply with the EAEU-adopted standard GOST 30333 (currently transitioning from the 2007 version to the 2022 version, which aligns with GHS Rev. 7). This standard dictates the mandatory 16-section format and specific data requirements.
Language Requirement: The official Safety Data Sheet (Safety Passport) must be provided in Armenian for local compliance and workplace safety. Additionally, the technical submission for EAEU registration often requires the document to be in Russian (the primary language for EAEU official documentation).
A compliant SDS for Armenia must be:
Format: The mandatory 16-section SDS format, adhering strictly to the structural and content requirements of GOST 30333.
Language Specific: Available in both Armenian and Russian to satisfy both local circulation and EAEU technical submission requirements.
Registration Ready: Prepared for submission for State Registration under the TR EAEU 041/2017 framework.
